About Us

Johnny Lee is the Executive Director of Peace@Work, a non-profit dedicated to the prevention of violence in the workplace before it become a threat. 

Johnny Lee was previously the Workplace Violence Specialist for the Office of State Personnel in Raleigh, North Carolina.  His responsibilities included consulting state agencies on the development and revision of their workplace violence programs. He implemented the Batterers Treatment Certification Program for the State of North Carolina.

He has also had the role as Training Director for the UNC-Chapel Hill Injury Prevention Research Center’s PREVENT program, delivering a national violence prevention training program.

Professional association memberships includes his role as the Chair of the Victim Services Interagency Council of North Carolina, a seat on the Board of Directors for the Businesses Continuity Planners of the Carolinas, an member of the American Society of Safety Engineers, former board member of the NC Victim Assistance Network and an active member of the Public Health Alliance to Prevent Violence against Women.

 HRD Press has published his human resources book, Addressing Domestic Violence in the Workplace in 2004.  He also co-authored the Armed Robbery Preparation Manual, a training resource for front line clerks and bank tellers to survive a robbery and support the investigations.  Other publications include articles in The Journal of Safe Management of Disruptive and Assaultive Behavior. 

 Previously, as the Victim Services Coordinator for the Asheville Police Department, he headed up a unit of staff and volunteer advocates delivering assistance to victims from the crime scene through to sentencing and beyond.  As an outdoor enthusiast, he led Outward Bound program for six years, from dog-sledding in Maine to white water paddling on the Rio Grande.
